Bolliger / Mountain Riflery Best Grade .375 H&H Magnum. A superlative rifle in every possible respect, serial 405297 was finished in 2015 on a Winchester pre-64 Model 70 action. BARREL: The 24-inch Krieger match blade blank is machined as a tapering octagon (.705-inch across the muzzle flats, recessed crown, integral front ramp, checkered button-release hood, brass-beaded blade, pop-up moon bead, textured ramp face, sling swivel stud, integral quarter rib with one standing and three folding leafs marked 50/100/150/200 - each with gold sighting lines). ACTION: The refined magnum-length action has a jeweled bolt body and follower, custom bolt handle with checkered knob (six bordered panels), extended tangs, reshaped and checkered bolt release button and Swift/Blackburn drop box bottom metal. The mounting system is comprised of custom bases for Talley 30mm quick detaching rings and incorporates removable caps. STOCK: Crafted from an exhibition grade English black with rioting figure, betterments include an ebony forend tip with widow's peak accent, fine wrap checkering with swirling ribbons and fleurs, capped crossbolts, palm swell, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, steel grip cap, inletted toe line stud, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and a satin finish. ENGRAVING: Michael Dubber created a magnificent walking lion centering the floor plate and a glowering leopard bust atop the cap, each in gold relief. The cats are surrounded by intricate scroll which, in turn, is bordered by flawless gold wire. The supporting design elements continue over the action, tangs, mounts, bolt handle, sight assemblies, guard, caps and stud. Dubber's work is signed inside the floor plate and also initialed forward of the guard. OPTIC: The Swarovski Z8i 1.7-13x42P (illuminated dot and circle, .35 MOA clicks) is in new condition and the electronics operate properly. CAPACITY: Six rounds (five plus one). Feeding/extraction/ejection are smooth and positive. The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 11.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.9 inches. CONDITION: New, with but a hint of the careful handling necessary to ensure proper function. CASE: A peerless Huey case with tools also shows in new condition.
