uger No. 1 300 Win Mag 200th year Liberty gun. Highly collectible rifle.
Modeled after the famous Farquharson falling-block rifle, Bill Ruger created the Ruger No. 1 and the design has withstood the test of time. This variant, unlike the Ruger No1-A, sports a heavy contour barrel that was shortened from its factory 26in finished length to a more balanced 23in barrel. Produced in 1976, and sporting the “200th Year of American Liberty" roll mark on the left side of the barrel, this rifle has seen its fair share of hunts with honest wear. In inspection, 2 stock repairs were discovered and are depicted in the images above. The left side of forearm has been repaired where a crack started at the receiver and worked up to the top of the barrel channel. Additionally, a second repair is seen on the right side of the wrist of the stock. Bluing is overall in a 90% state with expected wear from carrying afield on the receiver, action lever, and grip cap.
Wood grain has some fantastic character and the finish remains high gloss and silky smooth. At just over 8lbs, this rifle may be called a varminter, but is easily fit for a stalking style hunt. Should you be looking to add piece of American history to your collection, this would be a great candidate to hunt anything in North America, or taken to Africa as a plains game rifle.
