This is a 1914-made carbine that has retained 70-75% of the original blue along the barrel, with the balance faded to a mellow gray patina with some dark spots of freckling on top just ahead of the original ladder-type carbine rear sight. About 80% plus original blue remains on the special order half-magazine tube, with graying on the end cap. A small and unobtrusive import mark is present on the underside of the barrel just forward of the magazine tube. The frame has a mostly smooth pewter gray patina with traces of original blue remaining on a few of the protected areas, and the lever is likewise mostly gray, but with some muted original color case-hardening still visible, especially at the front where it meets the locking bars. The uncheckered walnut forend and straight-grip buttstock are in fine shape with only minor handling marks and small surface blemishes marring the otherwise fine original finish. This is a very nice ‘92 Special Order Carbine, and is in fine overall condition. FFL or C&R; Price: $2,495.00 Curio/Relic: Yes |
