The Stevens Model 954, produced by Savage Arms, is a straightforward, dependable semi-automatic rimfire rifle built for casual target practice, backyard plinking, and introductory pest management. Sharing its underlying design and mechanical architecture with the highly popular Savage Model 64 series, this rifle delivers functional simplicity and rugged construction at an incredibly accessible entry-level price point
Stock Modifications (Custom Brand): The most notable characteristic of this rifle is a custom hand-carved or branded monogram (\"JS\") permanently marked into the right side of the buttstock.
Wood Finish: The light hardwood stock appears to have been stripped or aggressively sanded down down past its original factory stain, resulting in a very light, natural blonde color. It shows minor handling wear and shallow scuffs throughout.
Checkering & Grip: The pressed checkering on the forend and wrist remains completely intact with good texture, though some areas show light surface discoloration from handling.
Metalwork & Bluing: The blued finish on the long sporter barrel and receiver shows thinning and light handling wear, but it remains uniform with no signs of heavy pitting or active corrosion visible.
Sights & Hardware: The factory front sight post and adjustable rear sight assembly are intact. The trigger and trigger guard assembly show some light edge wear.
