Built during the golden era of Browning Superposed production, this example stands apart from standard Superlight guns due to its rare solid rib barrel configuration. Most Superlight models encountered on the market feature ventilated ribs, making this solid rib variation especially attractive to knowledgeable Browning collectors and upland shooters seeking a more traditional, refined field gun aesthetic.
The gun features 26 1/2” barrels chambered for 2 3/4” shells with fixed IC/MOD chokes, an ideal classic upland combination offering fast handling and versatile field performance. At only 6 lbs. 10 ozs., this Superlight carries beautifully in the field while still retaining the balance and durability Browning Superposed guns are known for.
The elegant English straight grip stock with long tang further enhances the gun’s classic game gun appearance and handling qualities. Combined with the lightweight frame and solid rib barrels, this is the type of Browning that appeals strongly to traditional upland hunters and collectors alike.

Condition of the gun is excellent overall, showing very well throughout with strong original blue, sharp checkering, excellent wood-to-metal fit, and attractive walnut. The gun retains the elegant, clean lines that make the Superlight models among the most desirable field configured Superposed shotguns ever produced.
Finding a true Superlight 12 gauge with a factory solid rib and straight grip configuration is increasingly difficult, especially in this level of condition. This is a refined and highly collectible Browning that offers both practical field use and long term collector appeal.
