It holds a prominent place in American military history as the primary long arm carried by Theodore Roosevelt’s "Rough Riders" (the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry) and Buffalo Soldier regiments like the 9th Cavalry during the Spanish-American War
This rifle was made in 1898 and is original except for the upper stock at the rear sight, has been replaced.
