Description: Remington Rolling Block Rifle modified and cut down to a 13 3/8" barrel length. Stocks have been cut down and may be from another firearm of the period. The condition is quite rough overall. While the trigger guard, receiver and action are mechanically functional, the stocks show heavy wear including dings, chips and cracks. The barrel has acquired pitting, rust and a heavy brown patina. The rifle stocks are decorated with numerous tacks and metal bands. It is unknown when these items were added. This would make a great decorative wallhanger remnicient of a Native-owned blanket gun. Manufactured Circa 1866-1868.
