.Likely unissued Remington Zouave rifle.....58 caliber, 33" barrel, 7 groove rifling, rear musket sight, front blade. Lockplate marked U.S Eagle Remington's Illion N.Y and dated 1863 on the rear of the lockplate. Top of breech marked 1863 U.S. over V P and Eagle. Brass mounted. **The barrel retains nearly all of the blue finish. The stock with nice untouched open grain, with two mint crisp cartouches. The bore is bright and shiny.
