Marlin Model 336SC (sporting carbine) in caliber 30-30 Winchester, 20" round barrel with ramp front sight, factory 2/3 magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain pistol grip, shotgun butt with Marlin logo hard rubber butt plate, blued finish, correct blued trigger, correct no grip cap, white line spacer between butt stock and butt plate (1st year for this feature), Marlin Bullseye in toe line of butt stock, open sights, plain trigger. Serial number with H prefix indicates 1951 production.
CONDITION: Receiver retains 85% original bright blue except on the bottom due to typical carry wear. Barrel retains 75% original thinning blue with some light scratches. Mag tube retains 95% bright original blue. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, just light nicks and dings here and there, never sanded or refinished, still tight and proud. No damage to butt plate. Receiver properly drilled/tapped/plugged on left side for peep sight. Thankfully the Waffle Top remains undrilled! Action is crisp and smooth with a properly working half cock safety. Sights are original but the front sight hood has been removed. Bore is super bright and shiny with sharp Ballard style rifling, a 9.5 of 10. Overall grades Excellent and is a very nice JM-marked sporting carbine that will continue to increase in value while bringing much joy at the range and in the woods.
