Marlin Model 336RC (regular carbine) in caliber 30-30 Winchester, 20" round barrel with ramp front sight, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain pistol grip, shotgun butt with Marlin logo hard rubber butt plate, blued finish, correct gold trigger, correct grip cap with white spacer, also the white line spacer between butt stock and butt plate, Marlin Bullseye in toe line of butt stock, open sights, plain trigger. Serial number with AA prefix indicates 1965 production.
CONDITION: Receiver retains 85% original bright blue except on the bottom due to typical carry wear. Barrel retains 65% original thinning blue with some light spotting on top. Mag tube retains 95% bright original blue. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, just light nicks and dings here and there, never sanded or refinished, still tight and proud. Very small chip missing left side of butt plate. Receiver properly drilled/tapped/plugged on left side for peep sight, and top is properly drilled/tapped/plugged for scope mounting. Hammer extension is installed. Sling swivels added. Action is crisp and smooth with a properly working half cock safety. Sights are original but the front sight hood has been removed. Bore is super bright and shiny with sharp MicroGroove style rifling, a 9.5 of 10. Overall grades Excellent and is a very nice JM-marked carbine that will continue to increase in value while bringing much joy at the range and in the woods.
