Fine WWII-Korean War Springfield M1 Garand .30-06 Rifle CMP Acquired
Just acquired along with a large collection of U.S. military firearms including a number of M1 carbines and rifles models is this very fine vintage WWII Springfield M1 Garand .30-06 rifle obtained originally through the CMP (Civilian Markmanship Program).
This specimen. Serial number 1735661 was manufactured in a block from June, 1943 to September 1943. The barrel is an HRA marked barrel replaced evidently for Korean War use and dated 1951. The stock bears the ordnance cartouche still visible and although scattered bumps and bruises it is in sound shape. It has a nice reproduction sling and in butt was housed a U.S. issued cleaning piece in original pouch with a grease tube. Housed in the original CMP hard case and includes a documentation certificate from the CMP from the original owner.
