Description:
"Serial no. 606374. Manufactured in Manchuria between 1938–1944 at Mukden Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka,19 ¼"" round barrel. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. The imperial chrysanthemum (“mum") has been removed, while serial numbers remain matching throughout, a scarce and desirable feature on Mukden-produced rifles. The majority of the original finish remains intact, and the stock shows expected handling wear from military service, with “HA" carved into the right side of the buttstock. Mukden Arsenal carbines are among the rarest Japanese Type 38 variations, with only approximately 52,300 produced during Japanese occupation of Manchuria. These carbines were manufactured under wartime conditions outside the Japanese home islands and are highly sought after today due to their limited production and distinctive history. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
