Description:
RARE Hopkins & Allen FACTORY ENGRAVED Antique “CZAR” Single Action Revolver

WILD WEST Pocket Carry .22 Rimfire NICKEL PLATED

Here Ancestry Guns presents a seldom seen antique Hopkins & Allen “Czar” Spur Trigger Pocket Revolver, with a manufacturing run that began in 1878 in Norwich, Connecticut. This gun was made by Hopkins & Allen for the wholesaler’s G. W. Turner & Ross of Boston, Massachusetts. Production continued at least until 1883, which was the year that Turner & Ross went out of business. Considered to be the most widely advertised Hopkins and Allen pocket pistols, surviving Czar revolvers are scarce. H&A made some outlandish claims that the CZAR could kill farther than other revolvers and was a dead shot at 100 yards.  It was very well known Hopkins & Allen Arms revolver with original price in 1878 of just $1.75.

The revolver features factory engraved zigzag lines with a dot engraved barrel, top strap and area between the cylinder flutes, with a broad floral type engraved frame and a line pattern on the backstrap and at the muzzle. It is nickel finished with gold washed cylinder flutes and stops and a casehardened trigger and hammer.

The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish is preserved. Some gold plating remains on the cylinder. Strong action. Bright bore, crisp rifling, with some spots of pitting. Both grips are fine. Markings are legible. Engravings are clear.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3-1/2 inches.

Caliber: .22 Rimfire
