Description:
This Winchester 1895 was manufactured in 1903. Chambered in .35 Winchester, it has a 24" barrel.
This rifle has a wonderful amount of original blue left. The rear sight is a Lyman 21 that has an internal flip down smaller aperture. The barrels original dovetail site maintains a dovetail blank protecting the machining against dents and damage. Front sight is a marbles insert.
The stock and forearm on this rifle is original and free of cracks and splits. The original four and ebony Schnabel embellishment is present. A slight in debt in the edge of the wood in front of the rear sight on the left side of the forend can be seen in the pictures the butt stock is crescent style. There are no extra holes in these stocks. The stocks are in the original condition and have not been sanded or refinished.
It's rifles fitted with a 24 inch round barrel and sporting contour. Rifling is clean and shiny with no pits or corrosion. The sparrow also sports the role stamp of nickel steel barrel especially for smokeless powder. The crown of this barrel is flat and 90° as it should be.
Lever action is smooth and without any types of binding or signs of issues. Hammer has extremely distinct clicks and all springs seem to be maintaining the tension that they should.
Conclusion of this rifle is that it is a beautiful Winchester model 1895 that was produced in 1903 with a climbing Lyman rear site and considerable amount of bluing remaining. What is in wonderful condition and this rifle would be a beautiful addition to anyone's collection. Please feel free to ask questions.
