Description:
Colt 4th Model Derringers chambered in .22 Short, each configured as a single-shot pistol with a 2.5-inch barrel. Both pistols feature steel frames with a bronze finish and brown wooden grips. They are sequentially numbered 49604D and 49605D, representing a matched pair from the same production run. The compact design and single-barrel break-open action are characteristic of Colt’s later derringer models.
Each derringer has a one-round capacity and retains its original configuration with bronze-finished frames and wood grip panels. The pair is used and shows approximately 90% overall condition, consistent with light handling and age-related finish wear. The steel construction and compact form reflect the traditional styling of the 4th Model series, which was produced with attention to fit and finish typical of Colt’s small-frame pistols of the period.
The two pistols are presented together in a red display case that accompanies the set. The sequential serial numbers and matching configuration make them a coordinated pair. No additional accessories or documentation are included beyond the display case and the two derringers themselves.
