Ruger Mini-14 – 223 Rem – Upgrades – 2000 model
The Mini-14 is another iconic rifle that you recognize as soon as you see it. This particular rifle (serial number: 196-23477) was manufactured in 2000 as Ruger SKU 1805.
We believe that the folding stock is aftermarket and did not come from the factory. It also appears that the prior owner added the stainless heat shield and stainless flash suppressor. All of those additions look great, we’re just calling them out as being added afterwards.
The rifle is chambered for .223 Rem, has an 18.5 inch barrel and a 1:9 twist rate. The rear aperture sight is adjustable and the hooded front sight is fixed.
The black synthetic stock is likely factory original with just the folding buttstock portion being added. In order to fold, the stock has to depress enough that the notch in the stock housing can clear the metal tab that otherwise holds it in place. The mechanism is very stiff and we did not force the stock past the tab.
The attractive stainless finish is in Very Good condition with just a few small scuffs on the heat shield. The black synthetic stock is in Good shape with just normal signs of use. The bore on the rifle is clean and the barrel is bright.
This one is a nice looking rifle with a few make-sense upgrades. Grab the rifle, grab a magazine and head on down to the range!
