Description:
General Specs: Browning, 1972, 12 Gauge, 7lbs. 14oz. Modified Chokes, LOP 14 1/2", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 5/8"
Serial Number:  72G6296

Needing little introduction, the Browning A5 is one of the most iconic shotguns ever designed. With its signature humpback receiver design, the A5 is instantly recognizable and with more than 2.7 million made, it’s a common sight both in the wild and the more manicured lawns of Skeet and Trap lines! These guns were made to be used and millions of hunters and sportsmen did just that, slinging billions of rounds of ammo at all kinds of targets and they’re still going strong! This example, serial number 72G6296, produced in 1972, which sits outside of Browning’s salt-wood era. Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the way Browning cured their wood.  Not all guns were affected, but the marketplace still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs built from 1967 to about 1971. It retains 97%+ finish on all parts, perfect screws, excellent checkering, and is built in the Long Tang configuration. There are some noticeable field marks on the forend and stock, and noticeable loss of finish on the trigger guard and receiver, which we have factored in and price accordingly. This A5 has a 28” barrel choked Modified, with an excellent+ bore, and is chambered to fire 2 3/4” 12-gauge shells. Overall, an excellent semi-auto shotgun from one of the premier gun producers, which is priced to sell! Have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
