Description:
The Standard Arms Smith’s Patent Model M is a pump-action rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester. It features a 25-inch barrel and a blued finish. The rifle is configured with a smooth wood stock of straight-grip design, complemented by an engraved brass forearm and buttplate. This model represents the pump-action version produced under Smith’s patent before the company ceased production following patent changes in the early 1900s. Serial number 2225 is marked on the receiver.

The rifle is used. The bore condition is described as excellent, showing strong rifling and a bright interior. The pump action operates through a manually cycled mechanism typical of the Model M series. Metal surfaces retain a uniform blued tone with the brass components providing distinct contrast. The wooden stock shows the traditional straight profile associated with Standard Arms rifles of this period. No additional mechanical or cosmetic details beyond normal age-related wear are specified.

Included configuration details consist of the adjustable rear sight mounted to the barrel and the engraved brass furniture. The rifle was manufactured during the limited production run prior to Standard Arms losing the Smith’s patent in 1906, with approximately twelve thousand rifles made. This Model M is eligible for Curio & Relic classification under applicable guidelines.
