"Serial no. T53025805. Manufactured in 1955 at Factory 20 1/2"", chambered in 7.62x54R,20 ½"" round barrel. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are non-matching. The finish is beginning to thin from age and service use, while factory markings on the receiver remain sharp and clearly visible. The stock shows handling and usage impressions accumulated during military service, adding unique character to the rifle. The Chinese Type 53 was a licensed copy of the Soviet M44 Mosin-Nagant carbine and became one of the standard infantry weapons of the Chinese military during the 1950s. Many Type 53 carbines saw extensive service throughout Asia during the Cold War era, making honest service-worn examples increasingly desirable to collectors today. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
