"Serial no. 89163. Manufactured in 1950,chambered in .303 British,25"" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching, though the magazine is unmarked. The rifle remains in overall good condition, showing expected handling and usage marks consistent with military service. The “G.R.I." marking stands for Georgius Rex Imperator (“King George Emperor") and is commonly encountered on rifles produced at Indian arsenals. No.1 Mk.III rifles continued to be manufactured and used in India long after WWII, serving with military and police forces throughout the post-war period.
