This is a 1910-made rifle that features: a special order part octagon barrel, half-magazine tube, and checkered steel shotgun butt. The metal has 70-75% of the original blue finish remaining, with silvering at the muzzle, along the edges of the barrel facets, and raised portions of the frame. Additional plum-brown flaking is present along the top and bottom of the receiver, bolt, and barrel assembly bolster. The rifle is equipped with a Lyman sporting bead front sight mated to a V-notch rear barrel sight, and muted original color case-hardening can still be seen on protected areas of the hammer and lever. The uncheckered walnut forend and straight wrist buttstock have some minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the otherwise fine original oil finish, and much of the original blue remains on the checkered steel buttplate. The barrel lock-up is tight and the rifle rates fine condition overall. It would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL or C&R; Price: $2,095.00 Curio/Relic: Yes |
