Excellent, unaltered, and rare Pre War Winchester 70 in the all time great 30-06 caliber.
S/N 40749 with matching scribed bolt made in 1941.
This great rifle is completely original having no alterations, no extra drill holes, and nice original finishes with mostly minor handling wear. The stock is precise fitting and rock solid with no cracks inside or out, but with a couple of more moderate dings on upper left buttstock. Not bad for 85 years! I would rate this rifle about 96-97% overall.
The 24" barrel has an excellent bore as well, along with perfect and crisp mechanical functions throughout.
All original sights, 4 step elevator, hood, swivels, etc.
Good original Pre War 70s are very tough to find, and this is one is quite nice.
Expedited and fully insured UPS shipping in a dedicated foam lined box is an additional $150.
