This is a great rifle and a neat commemorative celebrating the 125th anniversary of the inception of Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo will forever be remembered as a stagecoach thundering across the American West, loaded with gold. The history of this company spans for going on 175 years and is rich in events that have happened throughout the history of the United States. From the Gold Rush, through the Great Depression, and continuing today, Wells Fargo has travelled through the history of America as one of its greatest companies. Wells Fargo and Winchester are two names that practically go hand-in-hand. You probably didn’t see a Wells Fargo coach without a Winchester onboard, so it stands to reason that these two are combined for one beautiful commemorative! This limited-edition Model 94 blends Winchester’s classic design with period-inspired engraving and commemorative embellishments. The left side of the receiver bears scroll engraving and the “Wells Fargo & Co.” script, while the right side displays the historic stagecoach scene. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. There was a total of 19,999 produced, and they were denoted by the serial range WFC1- WFC19999.
