Winchester Model 1894 rifle, caliber 30WCF aka 30-30, standard 26" octagon barrel, full magazine, blued and case hardened finish, serial number 361794 indicates production 1907, with scarce double set trigger, plain walnut stocks, straight grip, steel crescent butt, typical sporting rear sight, special order King Triple Bead front sight and correct "DA" Lyman no. 1 tang sight.
CONDITION: Receiver retains 20% original finish that has turned plum, upper tang does not have any extra holes when peep sight is removed. Barrel retains 65% original fine aged blue/plum. Mag tube retains 75% original fine aged blue mixed with plum. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, just light nicks and dings here and there with a couple of long scratches and a small burn patch on the left side of the butt stock, still tight and proud except at the very corners where the butt stock meets the receiver due to wear. Action is crisp and smooth with a properly working half cock safety. Set trigger does set properly, but there's a very slight delay in firing when pulling the main trigger, needs a little adjustment, still shoots fine, I did test fire it and it feeds and ejects properly. Bore is dark and frosty, has been cleaning up, rifling consistent but not sharp, I'd say a 5 of 10 that should improve with more shooting and cleaning. Overall grades Very Good and is a very interesting special order Winchester 1894 that will continue to increase in value while bringing much joy at the range and in the woods.
