Antique Allen & Thurber / Ethan Allen percussion pepperbox pistol, marked “ALLEN’S PATENT.” This is a classic mid-19th century American 6-shot percussion pepperbox pistol with rotating barrel cluster, bar-hammer design, ring trigger, wood grip, and engraved frame.
This example features a six-barrel cluster, percussion ignition, floral-style frame engraving, and wood bag-style grip. The pistol shows honest antique age and use throughout, with gray/brown patina, visible pitting/freckling, finish loss, and handling wear. The grip is present and shows age-related wear. Markings are partially visible, including “ALLEN’S PATENT” on the hammer/bar area. Please review all photos closely for exact condition, markings, and configuration.
