Often referred to by collectors as part of the "Fat Barrel" era, these early postwar pistols bridged the gap between pre-war craftsmanship and simplified modern production techniques. Colt utilized leftover pre-war stock and components before redesigning the barrel bushing in the 1950's making these specific configurations quite rare.
