Description:
This genuine green bakelite handled Chinese Type II bayonet was purchased in the 1980's along with an Import Arms Co., Sac. Calif. AKS underfolder. These bayonets were produced in the 1980s for the commercial market, never an issued item. Almost certainly a ClayCo import.
- Variant Distinction: The dark green bakelite/plastic variant (Type II) is often mistaken for black in indoor lighting, but the green hue clearly stands out in daylight. I have photographed the handle under a flashlight to show this color.
- Origin Rarity: These green commercial bayonets were primarily made to accompany Chinese import rifles. They were never actually adopted or used by the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
