This is THE original Winchester 52 sporter (Pre A, B, or C versions) and it is a stunner.
S/N 35307 with matching scribed bolt made in 1936.
Considered by many (myself included) to be the very finest .22 rifle ever conceived. The fit, finish, and overall supreme build quality of these few early Pre War rifles is simply unmatched by any other.
This superb example retains 98-99% of its original finishes throughout, showcasing its deep and lustrous rust blued metal along with its beautiful honey colored and tight grained walnut, seldom to be seen again on production rifles after the late 1930s or early 1940s.
100% original components include the rare and proper sights, unique and correct pre war/concave shouldered detachable swivels, and properly stamped 5 shot magazine.
The 24" barrel has an excellent bore, along with crisp and ultra smooth mechanical functions.
