About Us: First of all, thank you for your interest in my listing. I am an FFL Dealer in Connecticut, as well as a collector. The business name, Warthog Arms, is derived from my Air Force service as an avionic tech on A-10 Thunderbolts (also known as the Warthog). I always strive to go the extra mile to ensure a very satisfying transaction and have an established, trustworthy reputation. I also use GB for listings so if you would like to view my feedback, you can look me up in Advanced Search under Warthog-Arms. My current rating there is A+(194).

Description:
For your consideration is a Japan-manufactured Weatherby Mark V chambered in .378 Weatherby Magnum, in excellent overall condition. Made in Japan and assembled in Southgate, Calif., the date of manufacture is approximately 1975.

Metal and wood both rate highly with some minor handling marks. The bore is excellent, mechanics are flawless, and the rifle retains its matching bolt. This is a premium example of the classic dangerous-game Mark V, with the smooth action and high-polish blue finish that made the Japanese Weatherbys so desirable.
“South Gate, Calif.” indicates the rifle was assembled and finished at Weatherby’s original California facility during the classic Roy Weatherby era. These rifles are highly regarded for their craftsmanship and are more collectible than later German, Japanese, or U.S.-marked models.

The rifle features tastefully executed aftermarket scrollwork with gold accents on the receiver and floorplate - clean, elegant, and professionally done. It enhances the rifle’s appearance without being overstated.

Mounted on top is a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5–8x, a compact, rugged, and bright optic that pairs perfectly with the .378’s capabilities. Glass is clear, adjustments are crisp, and the setup is ready for the field.
