Description:
Serial #286399, .30-06, 26" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some traces of freckling within the grooves towards the muzzle. This is a handsome rifle that has a 5-18 dated, "W" marked barrel and correct "W" marked bolt and rear sight components. The metal retains 70-75% of the armory brushed blue finish with gray fading at the muzzle, along the high and exposed edges, as well as on the handle and bearing surface of the bolt. The "W" marked walnut stock and handguard are in fine shape with numerous minor handling marks scattered about the armory refreshed military oil finish. The rifle has an original Model 1917 "NOBUCKL" canvas sling installed, and also has a correct metal oiler in the stock compartment. This is a fine example of a desirable Winchester-made Model 1917, that was never parkerized for WW2. FFL or C&R;
