Offered for sale is a highly desirable early-production Colt Python Double Action Revolver chambered in .357 Magnum. Manufactured in 1967, this classic Snake Gun features the sought-after 4-inch barrel configuration with full-length ventilated rib, full underlug, adjustable rear sight, wide target hammer, and original Colt gold medallion checkered walnut "smiley face" target stocks.
Long considered the finest production double-action revolver ever built in America, the Colt Python combines exceptional craftsmanship, hand-fitting, and legendary accuracy. The deep Colt Royal Blue finish, distinctive ventilated rib, and smooth action have made the Python one of the most collectible revolvers in the Colt lineup.
This example remains in excellent original condition, retaining virtually all of its bright factory blue finish. The revolver exhibits only light handling marks, a faint cylinder drag line, and minor finish burn at the cylinder. The original walnut target stocks remain attractive with only modest edge wear. Mechanically excellent with a bright bore and strong rifling.
