Description: Jones Antiques / The Bunker presents an antique Flintlock Self Defense Pistol, made circa 1750-1825. Looks like something right out of “Pirates of the Caribbean”! Condition is excellent with a patina worthy of approximately 200 years of the ageing process! This piece is aged to perfection and completely unmolested for all these years. All components function perfectly. The bore is BIG .50 caliber. The hammer stands solid on the half cock and full cock. It features a spring activated dagger. The functioning dagger pops out by pulling the trigger guard backward for engagement. It locks into place as designed and provides an added feature for self-defense. Before the Derringer, they were “Gentleman's” or “Muff Pistols”, typically, a smaller pistol that was easily concealed. They were favored among the gentry and women because of these traits. Men would carry them concealed in a waistcoat pocket, boot and women would hide them in a hand muff. Pirates also favored the element of surprise this brought to the setting. This is the “real deal” not a reproduction. Being an antique this will require no ATF paperwork for the transaction. For payment we will accept personal checks, money orders, certified checks or a cashier’s check. Personal checks require 8 business days to clear the bank. Shipping and full coverage insurance is included in the purchase. You are responsible for any state and local laws.
