The 28-inch barrel gives this Xcel a smooth clay-target swing without feeling sluggish, tracking targets cleanly through crossing birds, rising presentations, and long outgoing shots. Beretta’s Kick-Off recoil reduction system in the stock helps tame repeated 12 gauge strings, keeping the gun flatter and friendlier during high-volume shooting.
The A400 line is known for Beretta’s fast-cycling Blink gas system, giving this shotgun strong reliability with target loads while keeping recoil impulse controlled. The walnut furniture, black receiver, carbon-fiber style rib, and Italian barrel markings give it that polished competition look without losing working-gun confidence.
Chambered for 2 3/4-inch standard field and target loads as well as 3-inch magnum shells, this shotgun has the flexibility to move beyond the clay course when needed. The Optima-Choke HP system allows pattern tuning, with improved cylinder-style performance ideal around 25–30 yards, modified-style performance in the 30–40 yard window, and full-style choke performance stretching 40 yards and beyond.
