Description:
Serial #924472, .30 WCF (.30-30), 26" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some traces of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1923-made rifle that has 85-90% of the original blue remaining on the barrel and magazine tube, with some silvering and gray fading on a few areas, as well as some thin surface freckling just starting to appear here and there. The frame has traces of the original blue remaining on protected areas, while the balance has turned to a mellow plum-brown patina throughout. The hammer and lever have likewise turned to a mottled plum-brown color, with some traces of blue still present. The barrel has a high blade front sight mated to a U-notch rear sight, and the uncheckered walnut forend and straight-wrist buttstock have only minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the original oil finish, most noticeably a series of surface bruises on the rear of the comb on the right side. The action locks tightly and functions flawlessly. This is a very good-near fine Model 1894 rifle, chambered in an iconic caliber. A nice honest gun. FFL or C&R;
