Manufactured in 1916, this classic 16 gauge side-by-side features desirable 26-inch Damascus steel barrels and the lightweight Flues action that made the model famous among hunters seeking a fast-handling field gun. The slim receiver profile and relatively light weight of the Flues design create lively handling characteristics in the field. Combined with the 26-inch barrels, this shotgun swings quickly on flushing quail, grouse, and woodcock while maintaining enough smoothness for instinctive wingshooting. Recoil remains manageable thanks to the balanced 16 gauge chambering and traditional walnut stock configuration. Ithaca's Flues Model was one of the company's most successful double guns and remains highly respected by collectors today. This example retains the classic rotary top lever, tang-mounted safety, dual trigger arrangement, and extractor system preferred by many traditional hunters. The Grade 1½ configuration paired with Damascus barrels offers the distinctive craftsmanship and aesthetics that define pre-war American double guns. Chambered in versatile 16 gauge, this shotgun occupies the sweet spot between the lighter carrying characteristics of a 20 gauge and the pattern density of a 12 gauge. The fixed Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder choke combination delivers broad, forgiving patterns ideally suited for upland birds and close-range field work, performing exceptionally well from approximately 25 to 30 yards. The smoothbore Damascus barrels and solid rib complete a classic sporting configuration rarely encountered in modern firearms. Collectors and enthusiasts continue to seek original Ithaca Flues shotguns for their historical significance, elegant lines, and connection to America's sporting heritage. With its 1916 manufacture date, desirable 16 gauge chambering, Damascus steel barrels, and Grade 1½ features, this is a fine example of a classic American side-by-side that showcases the craftsmanship of Ithaca's pre-World War I production era. ***Please see pictures for condition and wear*** SHIPPING INFORMATION: IF C&R ELIGIBLE WE ACCEPT C&R LICENSE WE SHIP SAME DAY WHEN POSSIBLE INSURANCE OPTIONAL UNDER “OTHER” PAYMENT OPTIONS: MONEY ORDER / CERTIFIED / CASHIER / CREDIT CARD (3%) CHECKS PAYABLE TO NATIONAL ARMORY LAYAWAY ON $749.99+ PROCEDURES: CANCELLED WINNING BIDS = 20% RESTOCK FEE SALES TAX: SUBJECT TO TAX RULES STATE & LOCAL LAWS: BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR LEGAL COMPLIANCE DISCLAIMER: All pre-owned firearms inspected; buyer responsible for legal compliance; all sales final.
