Built for the clay line and long-field work, this Ithaca Model 500 is a 12 gauge over/under made in Japan by SKB, bringing classic imported craftsmanship with the clean balance hunters and target shooters chase. With 28 inch vent rib barrels, dual beads, and fixed Full/Modified choke pairing, this one is set up to break birds hard and handle upland, dove, pheasant, and trap-style presentations with authority.
The 28 inch barrel set gives this shotgun a smooth clay-target swing without feeling sluggish, helping the shooter stay through the bird and finish the shot. The checkered walnut pistol grip stock, 14.5 inch length of pull, and Pachmayr red ventilated recoil pad give it a planted shoulder feel with recoil control that keeps follow-through clean.
This Model 500 wears the right vintage touches: engraved receiver coverage on all sides, single selective gold serrated trigger, tang safety, black grip cap, and classic walnut furniture. The break-action over/under design keeps the system simple, durable, and easy to verify at the line or in the field.
Chambered for 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge field loads, this shotgun is right at home with standard birdshot and target ammunition. The Modified barrel gives strong 30–40 yard pattern performance, while the Full choke stretches authority beyond 40 yards for longer crossing birds and tougher breaks.
