All original and complete. The scarce early musket has nice & very untouched metal and markings throughout. The lock in front of the hammer is marked "U.S. over An Eagle, & "SPRINGFIELD" under them in a half circle. The back of the lock is also "Dated 1812". The top of the barrel is "U.S. Proofed". All of the metal on the musket has an untouched & even dark chocolate brown patina on it. All of the wood on the musket is all original & also untouched with a wonderful darkening color to it. It has nice edges throughout it. The ramrod is also original on it. The musket has a nice action and good bore in it.
