An Early U.S. Civil War Military Drum Identified On The Top To "Private Thomas H. Blackhurst, Co. I" 3rd Regiment, Potomac Home Brigade Infantry", Also Known As 3rd Maryland Infantry" In Fine Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The drum is all complete & original throughout. It has its original maker label inside it as shown in the photos. The inscription on the top head reads, "DRUM OF THOS. H. BLACKMAN/3rd PHB". This was his second drum as he lost his first issued one. He had to buy this one himself and pay for the one he lost at $3.00 per month for several months. Because he put his name on this drum he had to pay more penalties. The drum measures 16 1/2 inches by 12 1/2 inches. The drum has a wonderful look to it as shown and is complete. 
     The battles that the regiment wa in were "The Battle Of Monocacy" Under General Lew Wallace, "The Shenandoah Campaign" Under General David Hunter and also under "General Phillip Sheridan" in The Army of the Shenandoah. They were at "Snickers Gap, Halltown, & Berryville throughout the summer. They also guarded critical transportation networks along "The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad & in West Virginia & mustered out on May 29, 1865. This Early U.S. Civil War Military Drum Identified On The Top To "Private Thomas H.
