Marlin had dropped the .32-20 cartridge from their catalog before World War II, but they brought it back for a brief window as a special release. The original run of the 1894CL (with "CL" standing for Classic) was manufactured from 1988 to 1993. Date coded to 1994, it suggests that it was manufactured just after the official run ended.
