The 1918 military Colt 1911—famously known as the \"Black Army\" variant—is a classic Colt 1911 produced to meet heavy WWI demands. It features a distinctive dark, hastily applied finish, a flat mainspring housing, a long trigger, and a traditional heart-shaped frame cutout underneath the grip panels.

Finish: The \"Black Army\" finish was a manufacturing shortcut; guns were blued without the extensive polishing of earlier models, resulting in a dark, rugged, and somewhat fragile finish that frequently wore down.
Trigger: Equipped with the original long trigger, rather than the shorter, grooved trigger introduced later.
Mainspring Housing: Features the classic straight mainspring housing (not the arched style of the A1).
