Description: The pistol was designed for precision target shooting and chambered in .38 Special full wadcutter, ideal for shooting at distances like 25–50 yards (hence the "mid-range" designation). It was designed to compete against the S&W 52 38 Master. It operates on a blowback mechanism, unlike the standard M1911 recoil operation, which keeps the barrel more stable during firing. Over its production run (1960–1974), there were a few major iterations to address accuracy and reliability issues, like the MK II with improved feeding and the MK III, which introduced a threaded chamber for better performance. This one has very little finish loss.  You can see the deep mirror like finish in the bluing.  Only a few slight marks on the right side of the slide from being in a box.  Comes with one Colt marked 38 special magazine.  Made in 1965. The condition of this is one of the best I've seen online for sale.  It is not modified in any way from factory original; no import or gunsmithing aftermarket markings or parts.   It would be hard to improve on this model.
