Offered for sale is a Smith & Wesson Model 14-3, serial number 20K0505, manufactured in 1977 during the peak years of S&W’s target grade K frame production. The Model 14-3, also known as the K-38 Target Masterpiece, is widely regarded as one of the finest .38 Special target revolvers ever produced, featuring exceptional balance, a tuned action, and match grade accuracy.
This revolver features the classic 8 3/8 inch heavy barrel, adjustable rear sight, and Patridge front sight, all designed for precision bullseye and PPC competition. The factory blued finish retains excellent depth and gloss, and all rollmarks remain sharp. The action is characteristically smooth, with a superb single action break that made the Model 14 a favorite among competitive shooters.
The revolver is fitted with factory checkered walnut target stocks, properly relieved for speedloader clearance and bearing the correct S&W medallions. Mechanics are outstanding, with tight lock up, proper timing, and a bright, sharp bore.
This is a clean, correct, and highly desirable example of a late production Model 14-3—ideal for collectors, target shooters, or anyone seeking one of the finest .38 Special revolvers ever built.
