"Serial no. 96841. Manufactured in December 1917 by Remington Arms - Eddystone Plant, chambered in .30-06 Springfield, 26"" round barrel marked “E/Flaming Bomb/11-17." The bore shows oxidation, though rifling remains visible throughout. The finish has thinned to an attractive brown-grey patina consistent with age and service. The bolt and safety are both marked “E," indicating Eddystone manufacture. The stock remains in good condition, showing handling and service-use impressions. The U.S. Model 1917 was the primary rifle carried by American forces during WWI, with the majority of soldiers of the American Expeditionary Forces armed with the Model 1917. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
