This is an 1862-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, and arbor (the wedge is numbered to a different gun). The metal has an overall dark, plum-brown patina with areas of freckling and some pale gray metal along the high edges and projections, as well as some mild pitting at the rear of the cylinder, and some mild surface oxidation on the loading lever. The brass trigger guard has a pale yellow-ochre patina, and the walnut grip is in very good shape with numerous minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about, and faint, but visible inspector cartouches on either side of the butt. The revolver is tight and the action locks firmly at both half and full-cock. This is an about good, representative example of a Civil War Colt overall. Antique; Price: $1,895.00 Antique: Yes |
