LOP 13 13/16" Serial Number: T43441 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this wonderful takedown .22 caliber rifle. From Browning: “Nearly 100 years of proven fun. The SA-22 is unlike any other rimfire rifle on the market. Much more than “just a 22,” the history of this fine rifle can be traced back to the mind of the gunmaker himself, John M. Browning, and is a lasting tribute to his genius. The SA-22 is sure to become your favorite plinker and varmint rifle. It is lightweight and easy to carry on a squirrel hunt, and easy to load for a day of plinking at the range. Construction quality and materials are top notch to ensure longevity and lasting beauty. The fine Walnut stock is sharply Checkered and polished to a sheen. The SA-22 ejects fired brass out the bottom of the receiver to make shooting a pleasure for right- and left-handed operators. Perhaps the most interesting feature is the ability to take the rifle down into two parts — the buttstock and receiver and the forearm and barrel — for storage or to simplify cleaning.” This example, serial number T43447 produced in 1958 by Browning FN, has the desirable early 4 position dial sight, pistol grip screw, and has a serial number engraved on the magazine stop plate. It is quite common for the number stamped on magazine stop plate and receiver to be different on early models, like this one whose production took place before the Gun Control Act of 1968. It retains 99% factory finish on the barrel with the only noticeable loss being at the muzzle, and has a 9/10 mirror bore. The receiver retains 90% factory finish with some slight speckling, and has Grade 1 engraving. The forend has some field marks from its many adventures. Overall, a handy .22 and a great range trip companion which you can shoot all day without breaking the bank! Have a look at the detailed specifications and pictures below. Thanks for looking!
