Description:
While it is marked 1873, the serial number shows the rifle is within the 1878 range. The bore is partial bright with some light scattered pitting and oxidation. There is good rifling throughout. Rifle is equipped with an 1878 buckhorn adjustable sight which functions well. Swivels and ramrod function well. Wood shows some light finishing took place. The barrel metal surface shows it was cleaned in the past and is now a plumb brown patina. .45-70 Government
