Description:
The T. Barker 16-gauge hammer double shotgun is an antique side-by-side with 30-inch Royal Damascus barrels configured with cylinder bore chokes. It features exposed hammers and a front bead sight. The metal surfaces show a brown patina finish consistent with age. The stock is checkered wood with a pistol grip, complemented by a matching forearm and a factory grooved metal butt plate. Overall length measures approximately 46½ inches, with a 14½-inch length of pull. This shotgun carries no visible serial number.
Lockup is described as tight, and the firing pins move freely. The bores are noted as good, though they would benefit from cleaning to remove fouling. A crack is present in the forearm, visible along the wood grain. As an antique firearm, this T. Barker double retains its original Damascus steel patterning across the barrels, showing the characteristic swirl of the forging process. The external hammers, double triggers, and top lever reflect the mechanical design typical of late 19th-century British or European doubles.
