Description:
For sale is a Heckler & Koch P7M13 chambered in 9mm, in excellent condition, and manufactured in 1990 (date code “KA”). This is a German-made commercial import marked HK Inc., Sterling, VA - one of the most sought-after configurations of the P7 series.
This pistol was serviced by a professional HK armorer prior to my purchasing it in 2021 and was unfired since that service. The service included disassembly, inspection and the replacement of any parts that were not up to spec with genuine HK parts.
I purchased the pistol with the intent of using it for concealed carry but never did. In preparation for the concealed carry, I replaced the original Trijicon 3 Dot Night Sights with new ones dated 2022 (bright for many years to come) and ordered a leather Kirkpatrick IWB Leather Holster (the most comfortable concealable IWB HK P7 series carry holsters I’ve found) as well as a special edition Kirkpatrick fancy “BBQ Rig” leather holster. I also ordered as set of wood grips with HK logos for the pistol. The Kirkpatrick holsters, wood grips, and 4 each HK 13 round mags are included in the sale. The 4 genuine HK mags are in excellent condition and include 2 date coded “JA” (1990), 1 date coded “IR” (1993), and 1 LE mag with no date code.
I have only fired the pistol twice since I acquired it. The first time was to test it for function and accuracy, which was impressive, and the second time was to verify that the POI had not changed after replacing the tritium night sights.
The pistol is in excellent overall condition, with sharp, crisp factory markings and the finish only showing minor wear on some of the sharp edges which are clearly visible in the photos. The bore is bright and clean with strong rifling and the gas system is clean and in spec as are all of its internals.
The foundation of the P7M13 was born out of tragedy. Following the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, West German police demanded a new, highly advanced service pistol. HK responded by engineering the P7 PSP (Polizei-Selbstlade-Pistole), which featured a unique squeeze-cocking mechanism, a low bore axis, a fixed barrel, a standout gas-delayed blowback system, and a single-stack 8-round magazine. The P7 is renowned for its over-engineered mechanical genius.
The P7M13 represents the technological peak of the famous P7 "squeeze-cocker" series. Introduced in 1982, it combined the P7’s notable features with a 13-round double-stack magazine, evolving a weapon originally built for the German police to an effective competitor in the mid-1980s American and global law enforcement markets.
Note: Unfortunately, I have several storage facilities in various locations and can’t put my hands on the wood grips at this moment. If the pistol sells and needs to be shipped before I can locate them, I’ll give the purchaser a credit against the sales price of $100.
