Description:
The Springfield M1 Garand is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield and configured with an 8+1 capacity. It features a 24-inch barrel and was manufactured in January 1944. The rifle includes an adjustable rear military peep sight and an ambidextrous safety. The finish is consistent with standard military production of the period, and the stock is a smooth wood pistol-grip type with matching handguard. A faded cartouche remains visible on the left side of the stock, and the buttplate incorporates the factory checkered metal trapdoor design.
This M1 Garand is used. The rear sight adjustment knobs are stiff to turn, but the sight mechanism functions as intended. Major components—including the trigger assembly, hammer, bolt, operating rod, and barrel—are Springfield Armory parts, with the barrel marked January 1966. The trigger guard is forged, and the rifle bears an import mark from API. The bore condition is described as excellent, showing bright interior surfaces and well-defined rifling. The serial number is 2619562, corresponding to the original 1944 production timeframe.
Included are the complete rifle with its fixed wood stock and all standard military hardware. No detachable accessories or additional parts are specified. The rifle retains its original Springfield configuration and markings appropriate to its government-issue lineage. Measurements noted at the breech and muzzle are 1 and 2, respectively. This configuration represents a World War II–era Springfield Armory M1 Garand in .30-06 with later Springfield-marked barrel and components.
