The Springfield Model 1898 refers to the famous U.S. Krag-Jørgensen bolt-action rifle, celebrated for its buttery smooth action. It was the first U.S. military service rifle to use smokeless powder. It saw primary service in the Spanish-American and Philippine-American Wars before being replaced by the Springfield 1903
